Apr 25, 2018

This product is a colorless transparent liquid with camphor odor, mp-80°C, bp117~118°C, n20D 1.3960, relative density 0.801, fp56°F(13°C), almost insoluble in water, but it can form azeotrope with water. The substance has a boiling point of 87.9°C, an aqueous content of 24.3%, and a ketone content of 75.7%, and is miscible with organic solvents such as phenol, aldehyde, ether, and benzene. This product is toxic, steam irritates the eyes and respiratory tract.
Application
4-Methyl-2-pentanone, also known as methyl isobutyl ketone, is a mouse-killer rodent intermediate.
Used as medicine, dye intermediates. The death of pesticides produced with o-chlorobenzaldehyde can prevent aphids on dry crops and fruit trees. The o-chlorobenzaldehyde oximation can obtain o-chlorobenzyl hydrazine, and further chlorination can obtain o-chlorobenzyl hydrazine, both of which are drug intermediates.
Solvents such as nitrocellulose, resins, and gums. Some inorganic salt extractants. Organic Synthesis
Used as chromatographic reference material, solvent and extractant
Used as a solvent, also used as a dewaxing agent for lubricating oils
spices. It is mainly used to make rum, cheese and fruit flavors.
This product is an excellent medium boiling point solvent. Used as beneficiation agent, solvent for dewaxing of oil products, coupler for color film, also used as solvent for tetracycline and pyrethroids and DDT, adhesives, rubber glues, aircraft and model mulch paints. It is also an effective separation agent for some inorganic salts. It can separate uranium from uranium, separate it from thorium, and separate zirconium from thorium. Its peroxide is a very important initiator in the polymerization of polyester resins. Also used in organic synthesis industry. It can also be used as an anticoagulant and thinner for vinyl resins.
