At present, the industrial production methods of ethyl acetate mainly include acetic esterification, acetaldehyde condensation, ethanol dehydrogenation, and acetic acid/ethylene addition. The traditional acetic esterification process is being phased out in foreign countries, while the large-scale production plants mainly use acetaldehyde condensation, ethanol dehydrogenation and acetic acid/ethylene addition, among which new acetic acid/ethylene addition methods are widely used in new plants. Ethyl acetate is mainly produced by acetic esterification.
Among the above-mentioned methods for the industrial production of ethyl acetate, the esterification method, the shrinkage method, and the addition method have become mature process routes, but in the esterification method, there is no corrosion due to catalysis and no good treatment is currently performed. Method, its application prospects are worrying. The ethylene process is limited by its technology and requires the largest investment in the same scale. In comparison, the total investment for contraction is low, equipment construction is difficult, the cycle is short, and it is more competitive. Therefore, under the circumstance that the raw material supply of acetaldehyde is sufficient, the use of shrinkage law is a good choice for low investment, low cost, and at the same time product quality can also be guaranteed.
