Japan's Maruzen Petrochemical Co., Ltd. has a designed capacity of 170,000 tons of raw butanone per year. Since the 2011 earthquake, it has opened an effective capacity of 130,000 tons/year, and the 2017 production has been operating smoothly. According to sources, the output of 2017 is about 128,000 tons.
Japan's Maruzen Petrochemical Co., Ltd.'s 130,000 tonne/year butanone plant is currently operating smoothly. It is reported that the plant will be scheduled to begin maintenance in April 2018, with a duration of about 50 days.
The performance of the domestic butanone market was temporarily calm. Although there was no pressure on the factory and inventory was limited, the overall domestic downstream demand was generally in the near-term. The decline in crude oil prices and the weakening of related product prices led to no significant improvement in the market procurement atmosphere. The short-term domestic butanone market is expected to maintain consolidation.
